On behalf of the Mile Zero Flying Club COPA Flight #183, and our community, welcome to Dawson Creek, BC, and our Airport, CYDQ. We are pleased to welcome and host all COPA members, the aviation community of North America, and the general public to one of the most anticipated exhibitions of flight in 2013.
Dawson Creek has been renown as the start, “mile zero”, of the famous engineering feat known as the Alaska Highway, and is fast assuming a new role as a centre of resource development, agriculture and industry. Our aviation history is rich and diverse, from a WWII emergency airstrip on the Lend-Lease route that supplied over 5000 aircraft to Russia, to the base of aircraft used in maintaining the Mid Canada Radar Line during the cold war, and our current role as home of one of Canada’s premier Aviation Maintenance Engineer training programs.
We invite all aviators and aviation enthusiasts to experience the unequalled hospitality of the community, our local attractions, and the spectacular blend of aerial scenery that combines the prairie landscape with a Rocky Mountain backdrop. At the conclusion of this year’s convention, we hope many of you will be enticed to join in the once in a lifetime opportunity to make the epic journey to Alaska with our experienced guides leading groups of aircraft to pre-arranged fuel, meal, and accommodation stops. Our intent is to allow all to experience one of aviation’s greatest journeys in comfort and safety.
There will be many special exhibitors, seminars, and aviation related events throughout the duration of the convention, and we invite you to check back to these pages, and our Twitter feed for the latest in event news and updates as the event date draws near.
Download our invitation, and post on your local notice boards please! POSTERCOPA1
